Event Overview :

Real estate communities across the country have been increasingly focused on ways to develop quality community infill. One approach is to utilize the principles of New Urbanism, but is it just a fad, or a real opportunity? What macro trends are fueling the demand? How are local planners and developers working together to supply these kinds of projects? What is the right balance of government planning and free-market development? In short, what is the emerging business model for this type of development?

Joining us to discuss these issues will be Scott Polikov, President of the Gateway Planning Group and a recognized expert on New Urbanism and form-based code, who will draw from his experience working with several projects, including Verano in San Antonio. Scott will tie these issues together in a discussion about the new economics of place at the ULI San Antonio District Council Luncheon Wednesday, September 3 at the Doubletree San Antonio Airport Hotel.
