The credit crisis affecting world financial markets has dominated recent headlines. For this year’s annual Young Leaders’ joint event with the Rice Real Estate Club, we welcome Tom Melody, Vice Chairman of CBRE, who will discuss current access to capital, and the issues surrounding the ever-changing financial markets.
Mr. Melody joined the Houston office of CBRE Melody in 1984. In 2007, CBRE Melody, one of the country’s largest and innovative real estate investment banking firms, closed 1,300 transactions totaling $25 billion in debt/equity capitalization of commercial real estate. Mr. Melody has taken the lead on advising owner clients on over $8 billion of debt/equity origination and/or product disposition over the past ten years.
