Event Overview:
Infrastructure 2008: A Competitive Advantage is the second of the Urban Land Institute’s annual reports on international infrastructure, completed in partnership with Ernst & Young. Please join us as ULI Senior Resident Fellow Ed McMahon presents the findings of the report, a copy of which will be provided to all luncheon attendees. While last year’s report examined broad issues facing countries and regions globally, this year’s update focuses the importance of infrastructure to a city or a country’s economic competitiveness. ULI commissioned research on 23 metropolitan areas—including San Antonio—to determine whether their long range plans are capable of accommodating the large population increases expected over the next 30 years.
A response panel of local public agency officials will follow Mr. McMahon’s presentation, in order to provide a more in-depth look at the San Antonio region’s infrastructure planning and investments, as we prepare for continued growth.
