Join ULI Houston for a developer's-eye-view of properties bordering Discovery Green Park in Downtown Houston. Hear from people transforming Downtown's convention and sports district into a 24/7, live/work/play and stay environment. Each developer will present a case history outlining the program, the opportunity, lessons learned, financing, and impact of Discovery Green on their projects.

During the talk and tour we will explore:

  • Discovery Green, a $125 million project built by a public + private partnership that gave Downtown an uncommonly beautiful back yard
  • The 37-story One Park Place, Downtown’s first high-rise multifamily development in 40 years
  • The 30-story Hess Tower, a Class-A, Gold LEED office tower
  • The 22-story Embassy Suites Hotel, the first to receive a subsidy under an ordinance approved in October that provides a giveback of hotel occupancy taxes for seven years to any hotel built within four blocks of the George R. Brown Convention Center.

In one morning, you will gain a behind-the-scenes look at what it took to make each of these game-changing developments happen.
