Event
Overview :
Join your colleages at ULI-The Urban Land Institute, for a conversation with real estate leaders about business strategies to not just survive, but thrive in challenging times.
Mr. Robert Duncan formed Transwestern in 1978, then guided his company through the wreckage of the Texas economic collapse 20 years ago. Despite depressed oil prices, a real-estate glut, crippling tax law changes, and the failure of 9 of the top 10 Texas banks, Transwestern grew from a small Texas-based investment building company into a major national diversified commercial real estate organization. In the past two years, Transwestern leased in excess of 52 million
square feet and represented clients in $9.6 billion of investment sales
and financing. Transwestern Investment Company, L.L.C. has made property investments nationwide totaling in excess of $12 billion since formation.
Transwestern Investment Company has recently raised its Aslan IV fund
with $800 million of fresh equity capital available for opportunistic
acquisitions of real estate along with its $500 million Mezz Fund III
for higher return debt financing. Hear directly from Duncan and those who have experienced previous downturns the wisdom they forged under fire, and how to take advantage of those lessons today.
