Event Overview :

The Houston region has long been a national leader in the development of master-planned communities. What factors led to our region’s pre-eminence in the field, and what does the future hold? In a discussion moderated by Mr. Joel Marshall, our distinguished panel of Mr. Larry Johnson, Mr. Ted Nelson, and Mr. David Weekley will provide their insights on what accounts for the popularity and success of master-planned communities in our region; how master-planned communities create sustained, long-term value; how developing and building in our region compares to others they operate in; and what they foresee as the future opportunities and challenges for such development, as our region continues to grow and add population, and as large land assemblage becomes more challenging. Mr. David Weekley will discuss what homebuilders look for in a community, given the considerable at-risk investment and long-term commitment to such projects. Similarly, Mr. Larry Johnson and Mr. Ted Nelson will discuss what they consider to be the most important attributes when selecting a location for a new community, and what they look for when choosing homebuilders for their communities.
