Event
Overview: Town
centers, transit villages, and main streets are hot
in today's development world. Interesting, pedestrian-friendly,
and dynamic mixed-use places are increasingly preferred
locations for shopping, working, living, and playing.
These mixed-use developments do not follow strict formulas,
and they are generally complex and difficult to undertake.

and innovative approaches that are being employed by
both the private and public sectors in creating new
town centers, transit villages, and main streets. Topics
include:
- Making Real Places: Creating Authenticity and Lasting
Identity in Town Centers Public/Private Transit Villages
- The What, When, and Where of Town Centers in New
Communities " Residential Over Retail vs. Residential
Beside Retail
- Town Center Headaches: The Toughest Management Problems
and How to Deal With Them " Transit-Oriented Development

What Do They Bring?
